Give students room to make decisions, with clear school requirements and adult responsibilities. Use a short session or current project to practice sharing work, seeking approval and checking results. Offer more than one way to contribute and account for commitments outside school. Give specific feedback on a proposal, task list or invitation: what does a reader or teammate still need? Let students revise it themselves and explain their choices.
