Before you respond
- What have you seen for yourself, and what are you assuming?
- Who would this change affect?
- What would the person making the decision need to know?
Work through it
- Use a specific example to explain the problem.
- Compare two realistic options. List what you still need to find out about each.
- Ask for one clear decision and check who has the authority to make it.
Consider a possible response
“Here’s the problem we’ve noticed and two things we could try. We still have a few questions. Which option should we check with the person responsible?”
This is one way to respond. Adapt it to your group, your responsibilities and the people involved.
